At St. Andrew's, educational neuroscience has transformed how we teach. These changes are evident in the varied forms of instructional practices, assessments and opportunities for student reflection in classrooms spanning preschool through grade 12. The CTTL's publication, "
Think Differently and Deeply
" provides snapshots into how research has changed teaching and learning at St. Andrew's.
Every student, every day should be the beneficiary of how much we know about how the brain learns. Innovative teaching means that educators are deliberately designing learning environments with an understanding of how the brain works.
At St. Andrew's, teaching each student how he or she learns is an integral part of the teacher-student partnership. By empowering students to know themselves as learners, our faculty intentionally develops confident, effective, independent learners.
