Affinity Clubs

Taste of St. Andrew's

The Taste of St. Andrew's is an annual event, organized by the affinity clubs, highlighting the various cultures present throughout the St. Andrew's community.

Student Affinity Groups

At St. Andrew’s affinity group members are actively involved in the work of social justice, support of fellow students, and community education.

Arabic Culture Club (ACC)

The Arabic Culture Club is a new affinity club focused on honest and informed dialogue about the broad diversity of Arabic Culture throughout the world.  Students have sponsored Arab-American speakers, as well as dialogue with the Jewish Culture Club on the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

Black Student Alliance (BSA)

The Mission of the Black Student Alliance is to exchange information, ideas and feelings about our experience as African Americans at St. Andrew’s and in the community at large; to foster a sense of community, support and respect within the greater SAES community about issues of concern affecting the African American community, including misleading stereotypes about African Americans. Diversity Club

The Mission of the Diversity Club is to provide support to all of the affinity groups at St. Andrew’s in our collective work in social justice.  In addition, the Diversity Club will broaden the discussion to include international poverty, environmental preservation, children’s and women’s rights.

Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA)

The GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) accepts and embraces LGBTQ (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Questioning) members of the SAES community; we also aim to provide material and resources for community education on related issues; and finally, we work to end harassment and derogatory portrayal of the LGBTQ community and its supporters. Jewish Culture Club (JCC)

The mission of the Jewish Culture Club is to support, celebrate and educate.  The JCC provides a space for Jewish students to discuss how it feels to be a Jewish student at an Episcopal School.  The club hosts celebrations of major Jewish holidays during school activity periods.  The club educates the entire community through the annual Holocaust Remembrance Day and other activities.
